FREE MOT TEST COVER
How Does it Work in General?
MOT Test Cover covers the most common areas in which a vehicle can fail
its MOT Test.
The product will provide cover for the repair, replacement or alteration of a
specified list of parts, provided they are shown on a MOT fail sheet (Form
VT30) as causing the vehicle to fail its test.
In addition the labour costs and VAT will be reimbursed as well, however
there will usually be a limit on the total amount payable

MOT Test Cover covers against the
repair and/or replacement and/or adjustment of an extensive range of parts, up to
a total value of £750 (including labour and VAT) in the event of the vehicle failing
its MOT test.
Qualifying Criteria
Following a service, MOT or multi point check, you may qualify to receive Free MOT Test Cover.
Obviously the older a vehicle is, or the greater number of miles travelled, will
have an impact on its chances of failing its MOT test. For this reason the underwriters (Fortis Ltd)
have the following criteria for issuing a policy:-
Most cars (and car derived vans) up to 8 years old;
With less than 80,000 miles on the odometer at the time of taking out the
insurance.

Customers can take out FREE MOT Test Cover if:-
There is at least 3 months remaining at the time of purchase before the
vehicle’s first or next MOT test is due;
They have had regular servicing, an MOT or a multi point vehicle check from an LOK outlet.
They are an individual residing, or corporate bodies registered in, the UK.

Servicing Requirements
The vehicle must be serviced to comply with the manufacturer’s
service schedule and failure to do so may invalidate a claim.
Services must be carried out within 1000 miles/4 weeks of the intervals specified
by the vehicle manufacturer, whichever comes first.
Service receipts must be retained as they may be required to validate any claim
made.
